| From Ekaira's place, the path leads you deeper into a dark and frightening part of the forest. The trees here are so close together that you cannot see very far at all in any direction around you, and you begin to wonder whether turning back might be the best course of action. Suddenly, you find yourself face-to-face with another large feline. Another Raveen Kat? Before you can say anything, the Kat leaps closer to you and stares you right in the face, golden eyes glittering in the darkness. |

| "Aren't you afraid of me?" he asks, his eyes wild and unblinking. You manage to stammer out something incomprehensible, to which he laughs. "Well, you should be, at any rate. I can be a very dangerous creature when I am in the mood." He sits back and yawns, showing pointed white teeth, seeming suddenly completely unconcerned by you. After a moment you finally work up the nerve and ask the Kat for his name. "Oh, did I forget to mention it? It's Uurd. I'd ask you yours, but I have to tell you that I honesty don't care. All you traveler are the same to me." He shrugs and lays down. "I'm a Fate element in case you were wondering. Just a low-ranked Fate, but that's still something to be proud of," he explains, sounding humble and full of grandier at the same time. "Low-ranked? What's the difference?" You can't help asking. "Oh, well I'm not quite as decorate as higher Fates. I also don't have wings like most Fates, but that's more of a mutation than related to my rank." He yawns again and suddenly leaps to his feet. "Well I'm growing quite tired of this conversation and most especially of you, so I think I'll be going now." With that, he suddenly seems to disappear. You look around, but don't see any sign of him. The woods are absolutely silent and you are alone once more. |
