| Around the next corner, you see a very large gathering of small, brightly colored creatures. You approach and realize that they are vaguely canine-like, though not like anything you have ever seen before. You go up to the nearest one, a small, blue fellow with a large bushy tail. He grins at you as you approach and ask him about his species. |

| "Well, we are melceys, of course. Surprised you haven't heard of us before. I am Nimbus, an air type," he says. "You look a bit confused, so I suppose I ought to introduce everyone. He takes you over to a group of three other melceys, all colored in blues and purples. "These are the water types," Nimbus says. "The light one is named Raintear, the small blue and black female is Ripple, and the other female is Styx." |
| "Giving the grand tour, eh?" Raintear asks. "Well, it's nice to see a visitor, anyway. Nimbus smiles and you move on to the next group, a tall tan-colored male and a lean black and green female. "The earth male is named Bryce, and the Darkness female is Sable. I'd give her plenty of room, if you know what I mean." He winks, and leads you over to another group. |
| "Another one, Nimbus?" one of the new melceys says. "Try to move the tour through quickly today, huh?" "That, er, charming fire melcey is Dante, not known for his patience, you might say. The other is Warlock, another Darkness type. Don't know if you'll be able to get a word out of him, but I wouldn't count on it. Warlock just glares at you, so you move on. |
| The next two melceys are both very small. A green shaggy male looks at you warily, while a tiny brown female bounces around hyperly. "I'm Fudge," the brown one exclaims happily. "She's a candy type," Nimbus says, as if that explained everything. "The other one is a life type. They're pretty rare and tend to keep to themselves. His name is Elm." |
| "Well, that's all there is to see here, for now," Nimbus says, leading you back to where you began. "As if that wasn't enough. I'd invite you to visit another time, but who knows how some of our members might react. Might want to wait awhile, anyway." He grins at you one last time and trots back over to join the others of his species. A nice creature, you think to yourself. |

| Sitting well away from the others is a very large melcey unlike any of the others you have seen so far. Even Nimbus looks a little afraid to approach him. "He's an overdrive type. They're usually pretty friendly, if you can catch up to them to talk to them, but he's too odd even for the others here." Nimbus explains. "His name is Shiva. Yeah, I wouldn't talk to him if I were you." "I heard that," Shiva says suddenly, looking up at you. "I'm not going to bite you or anything. I think the others are just jealous of my good looks." He has five legs, you suddenly realize. Strange. "He was from a Halloween litter," Nimbus says, as if that explains it all." "Hey, so was I," Fudge yells. All the melceys present roll their eyes. |
