| In the next meadow, you are surprised to see another pair of Crystal Unicorns. They stand together, conversing, until they see you enter their territory. The big male, spotted with a blond mane and tail, is the first to greet you. "Hello there," he says in a soft, low voice. You have to move a little closer to hear him. "Have you wanderered far today? There is a sweet stream just over there if you need to refresh yourself." You smile at his politeness, and assure him that you are fine. "If you are certain," he says doubtfully. "The day is very hot today, you know. Well, at any rate, I am Ros'Perf. Welcome!" His companion, a pretty mare with dark green in her mane and tail and almost red eyes, shakes her head with irritation. "Ros, I've told you, you don't need to be so polite all the time! I'm sure this traveler is used to taking care of itself. Who knows what kind of unsavory types it has met in these woods?" she stomps her front hoof a few times to emphasize her point. The stallion flattens his ears. "Well, not everyone is as grumpy as you, Wyza. Honestly." You look back and forth between the two unicorns, amused by their exchange. Seeing your look, the mare says, "Oh, I'm Zeltick'Wyza, by the way. It means Approaching Weather. Ros likes to make fun of me because he thinks I live up to my name perfectly. Unpredictable, he calls me." She snorts. "Come, on Wyza, you don't need to tell our guest that," he whines. "Besides, you know I really love you, green hair and all." He gives her mane a playful tug. "Whatever," the mare says and turns to face away from the stallion. She's not really angry, though, and gives him a sly glance back over her shoulder. "Well, now that you've met us, make sure to stop by the spring on your way out. It really is the best water you could ever hope to taste," Ros'Perf says and shows you the way back to the path. |
